The star event of the “Sake Week Vienna” (1.-8. October) is the “Sake Japan Fair” (6th October). From 12pm onwards we welcome all Japan- and Sake-lovers to join us, while merchants can already join from 11am onwards. Not only does the “Sake Japan Fair” offer the exhibit and tasting of 100 Sakes, you will also have the opportunity to discover other Japanese products. As a special guest this year, Miss Sake 2023, Hikari Saito, will enrich the “Sake Japan Fair” with her presence. As an elected ambassador for sake, she will help to promote the Japanese national drink and bring Japanese food and drink culture closer to those interested.
JETRO BOOTH:
Visit our booth and try over 15 different Sake not yet available on the Austrian market. We are trying to find importers for these products. Would you like to taste our sake or are you interested in importing? We look forward to welcoming you on Sunday October 6th.
Nippon-Ya, the Japanese supermarket, celebrates its 50-year anniversary this year and is present with its own stall. ConFusion mainly imports Kioke-Shoyus, soy sauces which are crafted and ripened over multiple years in traditional 100–150-year-old wooden barrels.
Sake Breweries
This year the organizers are looking forward to welcoming these five exceptional sake-breweries: Amabuki, Urakasumi, Terada Honke and two Sake breweries from Shiga.
Sake Pairings and Masterclasses
Bars and restaurants all over Vienna will offer Sake pairings for the duration of “Sake Week Vienna”. You can also attend Sake-tastings and introductory courses to discover or deepen your understanding of the Japanese national beverage. Some notable events are the Sake-brewing workshop, where attendants can brew their own sake, or the Sake & cheese tasting.
